Process
This client wanted something dramatic yet subtle. We picked up the tones in their home creating a tone on tone feature that doesn’t overwhelm the space but has enough interest to enhance this architectural feature.
Execution
I started with glazes and slowly built it up so as not to overdue the saturation. All of the hand painted details such as the number and clock and birthdates are all done with a soft silver. The center medallion is painted with oak leaves because it is the client’s favorite tree. I brought a soft filigree design on the panels surrounding the clock. Everything was then glazed to soften any remaining hard edges.
Detail
The clock is set to the clients’ anniversary date and everyone of their children, sons and daughters inlaw, and grandkids are represented throughout the clock with special dates and initials
